Is the Cost of on Line Dating Really Worth It?

Despite the availability of on line dating services provided for free, there are still quite a good number of people who sign up for paid dating sites. In fact, on line dating is one of the most lucrative industries today. It probably makes you wonder why people are willing to pay to meet strangers when they can do it traditionally without having to pay a cent. More importantly, why are people willing to spend tens of dollars monthly when they can avail of free dating services? Let us examine this further.

The Cost of On Line Dating

Most dating sites charge anywhere from $10 to $30 per month. Some of them charge annual fees of more than a thousand dollars. There are hundreds of dating services provided online which are free of charge. You can actually sign up through this site, meet new people, engage in no-cost courtship then finally meet when everything is in place. The only thing you might need to pay for is your Internet connection.

What makes paid on line dating sites popular? Well first of all, paid Internet dating sites claim that since their members are paying money, they show some form of willingness to commitment which is necessary if you want to develop a romantic, long-term relationship. They further insist that those that go for free sites are only interested in meeting people and playing around without having to risk a dime.

For example, dating sites which charge a thousand dollars yearly have been geared towards attracting the well-paid and rich professionals who do not have that much time to look for potential partners. With these sites, they are able to find those who are as capable and as well-paid as they are. If they sign up for these high maintenance sites, they can be pretty sure that they will meet someone who are committed and powerful enough to have a thousand to spare a year for such purpose.

Imagine though how traditional dating is like. You will surely spend money and time on blind dates, try to develop relationships in your office, or go to the club on Saturdays. Hard it is to admit, some even pay to be able to have some intimate but quick contact.

The bottom line is, dating really costs some amount of money. Activities such as movies, dinner at restaurants, going to concerts and shows, and so on, require money especially among men. For women, you need to buy some nice clothes or get that dress that matches your shoes to make you look your best. All these you need to spend for without assurance that you will have the chemistry with your date to pursue an actual romantic relationship.

If you look at it closely, $10 to $30 a month through an on line dating site may seem cheaper as compared to the costs of traditional dating. At least with Internet dating, you have already gone past the get-to-know stage and are more or less certain that there is some compatibility that you can both bank on. Of course, free on line dating sites can also be an option. Whichever you choose, the cost of on line dating is, in the long run, really worth it.
